Our Hospital

Our team is focused on outstanding patient care combined with exceptional client communication. We want every patient to receive the best medical care possible while communicating effectively with their owners every step of the way. With our convenient patient portal, clients are able to be a part of their pet’s healthy future, accessing medical histories, lab results and even ordering prescription medications and diets.

At Pleasant Plains Animal Hospital, we take great pride in the services we provide to our community. We have worked diligently to obtain AAHA accreditation and continue to update protocols to stay current on medical advances and ways to provide a Fear-free environment for our patients. With a complete range of in-house diagnostics tools and analyzers, we are able to provide emergent and tailored treatments for every medical need.

The team at Pleasant Plains Animal Hospital strives to provide an outstanding workplace culture. It is important to the management that every employee feels valued in their work environment. We also love to train and promote from within, so there is always an opportunity for growth within our company. We provide free CE to all our employees, so you can also learn and grow in what interests you!

The Position

The Licensed Veterinary Technicians at Pleasant Plains Animal Hospital are an integral part of the practice. We utilize our LVT’s medical knowledge for emergency visits, isolation visits, critical care management, client communication, and routine examinations. Our licensed technicians are responsible for overseeing outpatient appointments, supporting veterinary assistants in diagnostics and treatments, working one-on-one with the DVMs to manage hospitalized cases, overseeing care for surgical patients and so much more! We want our veterinary nurses to be leaders and work to their fullest potential.

As part of the nursing team, you are expected to provide basic husbandry to all patients, obtain a variety of diagnostic specimens, perform diagnostic tests, administer medications, restrain patients, follow detailed treatment plans provided by a veterinarian, and communicate effectively with pet owners.

Pleasant Plains Animal Hospital is open 7 days a week with 24-hour medical support at our South Shore location. We perform surgeries Monday through Friday with emergency procedures only on the weekends. Our experienced surgeons perform a wide variety of surgical procedures. While PPAH utilizes a mobile ultrasound veterinary to increase our standard of care for our sick patients, we also have in-house ultrasound capabilities.

Our Team

Veterinary medicine is a team sport, so we expect everyone at Pleasant Plains Animal Hospital to work as a team! PPAH is dedicated to making the veterinary experience better for the pet, the owner, and the employee. Our success as a hospital relies on our success as a team, and we practice medicine with that in mind. We expect all of our teammates to bring a positive attitude to the workplace, positivity is contagious! And if something isn’t working out for you, we expect you to communicate. Our management team deeply cares about the well-being of our employees, and we value communication from everyone on our team.

Pleasant Plains Animal Hospital also loves ideas! Our management team is always looking for ways to improve our clinics. We believe in reinventing the wheel! We want our team to feel empowered and feel heard. So if you are an applicant with big ideas (or small ideas), we want to know you.
